All Things New

Spring is here, and it couldn't have come at a better time. And so, to mark this momentous occasion, I've spent the last few days lying out on the porch, being warmed by the hot sun while sipping ice-cold lemonade.

Springtime must be my favorite season. I just love the feeling of warmth after a long winter! (And by long, I mean long. Here, the winters last about 5 months.) During the cold winter months, it's easy to get discouraged. I often find myself longing for spring. I know that someday it will come, but it's so hard to wait!

Sometimes, life is just like winter. When a season of life is long and hard, it's hard to imagine the day when it will be over. But, thankfully, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel, a spring at the end of every winter. I love what it says in Isaiah:

"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland." (Isaiah 43:18-19)

Isn't that an amazing promise? It's so wonderful to know that God is always doing something new in us. When we feel like we can't go on, He promises us: "I am making everything new!" (Rev. 21:5) If we genuinely long to be changed by Him, He will do amazing things in us.

So, that's what God's teaching me, friends. As long as I press on to know Him in a deeper way and seek to be filled with Him every day, He will keep nudging my heart towards Him. I think it's almost springtime in my heart...

Let's continue to press on towards the Goal!
Have a great day, everyone.

Hi Kelsey,

Kaysie is a good friend of mine, funny she commented too. :-) Thanks for the comment on my blog. Yours is delightful and this post is very sweet. WInter lasts 6-7 months here in MI, so I understand where you're coming from!

That's very neat that you attended Liberty's CFAW. I visited the campus last year. I am a sophomore through LU's DLP, so I work from home, and will be on campus in the fall of 2009. I'd love to get to know you better -- maybe we can link to eachother's blogs?? I am always so glad to meet likeminded Christian girls.

God Bless!

Hi Kelsey,

I linked you to my blog :-) Do you have an email or something so we can discuss Liberty more fluently? If you don't feel comfortable handing it out though I understand.
God bless!
